Carli A. Clowers was born and raised a Navy “brat,” moving all over the continental United States and even overseas. Her experiences as the daughter of a Navy officer forced her to be adaptive, adventurous, and resilient, as she moved from place to place with her family and encountered new places and people. Her family made their way back “home” to Tennessee, after her dad’s retirement.
Carli completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s in English and a minor in Political Science. Carli pursued her legal education at the University of Louisville Law School. There, she excelled academically, graduating magna cum laude, in the top ten students in her class. As an Articles Editor for the University of Louisville Law Review, she honed her research and writing skills, delving into complex legal issues.
Carli’s legal journey took a significant turn when she joined Waters Tyler Hofmann & Scott in 2013. As an associate attorney, she found her niche in several practice areas:
- Insurance Litigation: Carli navigates the intricate world of insurance disputes, advocating for insurance carriers and policyholders and ensuring they receive fair treatment.
- Personal Injury Defense:Car accidents, slip-and-falls, dog bites, and other personal injury cases became her battleground. Carli vigorously defends defendants in personal injury actions to ensure that justice prevails.
- Healthcare Litigation:In this ever-evolving field, Carli represents healthcare providers, addressing regulatory and subpoena compliance, and providing other litigation-related counsel to medical providers.
Carli has been a partner at the firm since January 2020. As she continues to help her clients, her leadership role is shaping Waters, Tyler, Hofmann & Scott, and enabling the firm to grow and excel.
Beyond the courtroom, Carli is a devoted wife to her husband, Jackie, and a loving mother to their four children: Adaline, Estelle, Lucy, and Levi. She balances her legal career with a love for travel, hiking, and Peloton spin classes. Her faith is central to her life, and she actively participates in her local church community.
Carli A. Clowers embodies resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Her narrative continues to unfold, leaving a lasting impact on the legal landscape
