Liem Sokhon is an associate trial attorney with the Waters, Tyler, Hofmann & Scott. She is admitted to practice law in both Indiana and Kentucky. Liem focuses her practice on auto and trucking litigation, premises liability, and construction litigation.
Liem earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2018, where she was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Trial Practice. While at UofL, she served as President of the Asian Pacific Law Students Association, participated in the International Service Learning Program in Cebu, Philippines, and was a Kentucky Legal Education Opportunity (KLEO) Scholar.
Before entering private practice, Liem spent ten years with the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office. She began as a law clerk and later served as a trial attorney following her admission to the Kentucky Bar in 2019. During her tenure, she tried numerous jury and bench cases, handled dispositive motions and evidentiary hearings, and authored appellate briefs, including presenting oral arguments. In 2023, she was promoted to one of five Supervisors in the Criminal Division, where she led a team of prosecutors, managed complex dockets, and mentored attorneys. Liem also litigated Veterans Treatment Court, protest, and Public Integrity Unit cases, conducting countless hearings—experience that informs her approach to complex civil litigation.
When not practicing law, Liem enjoys staying active, traveling to visit her sisters, and exploring new restaurants. She values time with family most, especially with her three-year-old son, Atticus.
